Coleman Funeral Home is opening a new location in DeSoto County, just 10 miles from the Olive Branch facility it opened in 2017.

Its new Southaven branch office is located at 59 Church Road E., across from Tanger Outlets. It offers a convenient location for Southaven families to meet with funeral directors to make immediate or pre-need arrangements. It also provides space for small family gatherings.

“Opening this new location gives us a chance to extend the care and convenience we offer to families in their time of grief,” said Glenn Coleman, co-owner of Coleman Funeral Home. “We deeply appreciate the way both Olive Branch and Southaven have welcomed us into their communities.”

Founded in Oxford in 2004, Coleman Funeral Home expanded to Olive Branch in 2015 with a temporary rented location. Last year, it debuted a new 6,500-square-foot facility across off Goodman Road from the YMCA.

Both its Oxford and Olive Branch facilities have earned praise from families for offering an atmosphere unlike traditional funeral homes that have low ceilings and dark, somber spaces. Instead, Coleman facilities are filled with natural light and feature vaulted ceilings, rustic beams and stacked-stone fireplaces.

“People tell us they feel like they’re walking into someone’s home,” said Larry Wray, funeral director at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch.
“They love the openness of the public areas, and they also appreciate the private rooms for ministers and families. All the details of the facility work together smoothly to provide a welcoming, comforting space.”

The Olive Branch location features a built-in coffee bar and catering kitchen, making it easy to host receptions that bring friends and families together. The main chapel space can be converted from row-style seating into a reception hall with round tables.

In Southaven, Coleman Funeral Home has rented a former home to serve as its initial location in the community. Funeral services and visitations arranged through Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven may be held at local churches or at the Olive Branch location, about a 15-minute drive away.

Coleman Funeral Home operates differently from traditional funeral homes by offering complete transparency in its pricing. Its full price list is posted online to make it easy for families to compare.

To schedule a pre-planning meeting with a funeral director, call the Olive Branch location at (662) 893-3900 or the Southaven location at (662) 349-3900.
