Coleman named ‘Best of DeSoto’
Coleman Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been named Best Funeral Service in the DeSoto Times-Tribune’s 2016 “DeSoto’s Best” contest. Winners were announced in a special publication on Feb. 23, 2017.
Coleman expanded into DeSoto County by opening on Goodman Road in Olive Branch in February 2015 after serving Lafayette County and surrounding areas since 2004. Larry Wray, a longtime funeral director and former owner of Brantley Funeral Home, manages the Olive Branch location.
“‘Our Olive Branch staff are local people committed to DeSoto County and its communities. And we’re proud of our North Mississippi ownership,'” Wray was quoted in the “DeSoto’s Best” article.
New facility nearing completion
The staff and many vocal community members are anticipating the opening of a new Coleman Funeral Home facility on Parkview Boulevard, across from the Olive Branch YMCA, in spring 2017. It will offer a bright, inviting, yet dignified setting in which to honor the memory of loved ones.
Co-owner and funeral director Glenn Coleman said he was pleased but not surprised to have Coleman Funeral Home chosen DeSoto County’s Best.
“Our aim is to serve families in their most difficult times,” he said. “Whether they prefer the comforting familiarity of a traditional funeral or a more celebratory memorial event, we’re here to help them honor their loved one in ways they find most meaningful.”
The “DeSoto’s Best” honor was gleaned from more than a half-million votes of Times readers in more than 150 categories from dining and retail to community leaders, entertainers, construction contractors, healthcare providers, and a host of other service providers.
