Coleman Funeral Home helps law school’s tornado relief

University of Mississippi law students are among the groups responding with relief for survivors of tornadoes that ravaged South Mississippi on Jan. 20-21.

Coleman Funeral Home is pleased to join the university’s Law School Student Body has started gathering supplies for both survivors and response teams. Mirroring the type of donation it frequently makes to community events and relief needs, Coleman Funeral Home has donated 10 cases of bottled water to the effort.

Law School Student Body President Gregory Alston, a Hattiesburg native, launched the relief supply drive after he helped with early recovery efforts and saw the damage firsthand.

Items being collected include non-perishable foods, food storage bags, manual can openers, baby formula/supplies, personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, bottled water, and pet food/supplies. Donations can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays through Feb. 3 at the Law School on Chucky Mullins Drive.
