Lori Payne joins Coleman Funeral Home
Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven has welcomed to its staff lifelong Southaven resident Lori Rasco Payne.
Payne, a Southaven High School graduate and local business owner, has joined Coleman Funeral Home as a community ambassador. Her role includes providing Southaven families with information about services provided by Coleman Funeral Home.
“Lori is known for her compassion and connection to the Southaven community,” said Glenn Coleman, co-owner of Coleman Funeral Home. “We are excited to have her joining our team.”
Payne continues to lead her performing arts school, LRP Studios, which she has run in Southaven for 25 years. She is married to Ward 3 Alderman George Payne and has four daughters, Jamie, Sara, Rae and Riley.
Payne said joining Coleman Funeral Home in a part-time role offered a way to give back to the community, by connecting families to a new approach to funeral care and celebrating life.
“Southaven and the surrounding communities have grown so much,” said Payne, recalling a not-so-distant past when five-lane Airways Boulevard was a just gravel road.
“What hasn’t changed is our community values and the way families here care for each other,” she said. “Especially when someone has experienced loss, we want to be there to comfort them. Southaven deserves the kind of service that Coleman Funeral Home offers, and the beautiful facility it plans to build here.”
Coleman Funeral Home was founded in Oxford in 2004. Its Southaven branch facility is currently located at 59 Church Road W., across from Tanger Outlets. The funeral home recently announced plans to begin construction on a permanent facility this fall on Star Landing Road.
